For more information, please call 07973 412996 We are looking for one or two working pupils, trainees or apprentices wanting to learn how to groom and manage a successful and professional show jumping yard for three months and over in Cairo, Egypt. The successful applicants will learn how to care for a professional show jumping horse including tacking up for customers and owners, fitting tack, plaiting, lunging, competition care, bandaging and small medicinal problems. The applicant will also learn how to manage a yard including feeding, bedding, supplies and schedules. There is also an opportunity to ride and have show jumping training. This is a chance of a lifetime to visit and live in a beautiful and awe-inspiring country while learning valuable skills on the care and upkeep of show jumping horses. Other Information: We are a family business with a riding school, livery yard and show jumping yard. In the riding school we teach all ages and in the livery yard we take many of our horses and customers to shows in the winter and summers seasons. Rider Interpreter Carrying out displays on horseback, including use of weapons whilst wearing traditional costume or armour. eg jousting, historic cavalcades, tudor riding skills. You will care, maintain and train the Royal Armouries horses. Taking part or leading public presentations and Q&A sessions. You will have a minimum of 2 years riding experience, a good standard of riding and performance skills with excellent hand / eye co-ordination. BHS exams 1 – 3 are desirable along with a keen interest in history. Due to reasons of historical authenticity, this position requires a physically fit male, over 5ft 7"and weighing no more than 12 stone. This position is 37.5 hours per week working 5 days over 7. Working from our mobile stand at various events, ranging from Horse Trials to County Shows, you will be required to show customers how to use our unique viewing system, advising on photograph selection and taking orders.
