I have this obsession with horses which drives everyone mad, but I never even dreamed of having lessons until last summer. Let me tell you about it:
It all started when I changed to secondary school. In my old school, none of my friends liked horses but at secondary, my best school friend was utterly obsessed! After a year of listening to her rambling on about riding, I started nagging mum to let me go.
It took months to persuade her and finally I went for a lesson at a place called 'Coltspring', I loved it and soon went again. When I started, mum promised it would only be for the summer hol's, but my good old grannie managed to persuade her to let me join the group lesson and keep at it after seeing me ride.
Group lessons were pretty different to privates and much better, after half a term, I was moved up a group. In this group (which I'm currently in) we did jumping out in the field and much more cantering than in the old group. I also knew a couple of people there too!
My dream is to become either a jockey or a show jumper, as I love jumping more than anything else in the world! I would really, really love to gallop as cantering fast is fantastic!
I'm still friends with the girl who got me started and we have endless conversations about horses, it's all we ever talk about!
