'Gallop for Home'
Claire pulled up after the long gallop up the grassy hill. Her hair blew in the wind, her horse blowing slightly in his excitement. Her horse was a powerful Chestnut Arab gelding called Magic. They cantered along a strip of knee high grass, horse and rider as one. Magic slowed to a trot and then a walk his elegant head majestically raised. They turned a corner and were faced with a low, about 3ft, post and rail fence leading onto another field, it was all to tempting for Claire she pushed Magic into a fast canter, she was oblivious to anyone and everything apart from her and magic. Magic was tired, grunting with the effort trying his best. His best wasn't good enough, his front legs hit the rail with a great force, Claire was catapulted over the fence and lay there in the wet grass completely still. Magic was on the other side of the fence still he paced up and down, worried about his rider, he reared up, spun round and galloped for home. Claire's mum heard a loud snort as she stood in the kitchen, she peered out the window and saw magic standing there sweating anxious. Claire's mum knew there was something wrong she saddled up her own horse and Magic led the way to an injured Claire.
