'Jasper'
By Jennifer Roberts
I had been riding for seven years and I was desperate for my own horse. After much persuading my mum finally agreed to buy me a pony. We went to see loads of different horses but none of them was quite suitable. After a few months of seeing so many horses, we finally saw Jasper. He was a 15hh, chestnut Arab gelding. He was beautiful. He was only five but his owner said he had won over 100 rosettes! I tried him out and he was wonderful, we rode around the school, we jumped and I even took him out for a quick gallop! After completely falling in love with Jasper my mum told his owner that we would only buy him if he passes a vetting. We arranged for the vet to come and see him as soon as possible and he passed with flying colours! We came to take him away the next day and when we got him home I turned him out with my boyfriend's horse, Cascade. My boyfriend, Alex, helped me unload all the tack and stuff I had got with him. We had a beautiful show saddle, two bridles, four rugs, loads of boots and loads of other things like fly fringe and headcollars etc. After we had put everything away, we went and watched Jasper and Cascade in the paddock. As I watched my two favourite horses in the world with my mum and Alex, my two favourite people in the world I relised my lifelong dream had come true. I have had Jasper for four years now and we have gone on to win loads in showjumping, showing but mainly eventing. Jasper loves galloping cross country and we often gallop along the beach near to where I live. I love him more than anything and will never sell him.
