'Rodeo'

"Rodeo?  Are you nuts?  I can't even ride!"  Shouted Dallas Crew in the kitchen.

"Now dear, we're moving to this dear little ranch and I think it would be useful if you could...rodeo."  His mother shrugged and went back to scrubbing potatoes.

"Anyhow, I don't want to move to a stupid ranch, we're fine here in New York."  Dally stomped out of the kitchen.

"Oh dear.."  Muttered Mrs. Crew.

"Hey Dildo face, whassup?"  Shouted Dally.  The boy exercising a bay cow horse in the Crew's paddock looked up and stared at Dally.

"Upset about moving. huh.  Don't worry, after all it'll be better for Dobby here."  He patted the horses neck.

"Is that all you ever think about, horses.  The French eat them, you know."

"Go away Dally, I'm working."

"Geez! Texas, it looks like the horse is doing all the work, he seems to be sweating an awful lot don't you think?"

"Sorry man, subtlety don't work on me."

Dally moved on but wherever he went, there were horses.  Even his dad, a soldier, was standing on the front porch, staring at a tack catalogue.  His sister, Joel, was drawing Texas riding Dobby.  His dog was eating some of Dobby's poo and his mum was going on about the move.  Why does everyone in my family like horses except for me? why do I have a paper round and Texas and Joel go to rodeos ?  He thought solemnly to himself.

The Crew family and Dobby were all packed up and ready to go.  Even though they'd owned a small field and Dobby for twelve years, this new ranch in Oheo would be like a whole new way of life...

"Messsssssy!"  Whistled Dally as they drove up to the ranch.  The main building was the huge house the Crews' would live in.  There was also a large barn, two large paddocks, a tack room and a room for grain and three loose boxes.  Also, about fifty acres surrounding the ranch was theirs.

"Dobby will have so much room!"  Breathed Texas and Dally thought he looked like a basket case.

The Crews slid gently out of their car, except Dally who slid out on his back and slammed the door shut with his feet.

"Before we do anything we must all unpack!"  Yelled Mrs. Crew but everyone was gone to explore.
