From Sadie's View!

Hi, I'm Sadie, a very pretty (if I may say so myself!) horse. One morning, when it was still dark, my owner Kelly was down the stables. She put a red and gold headcollar on me and led me onto the warm concrete. Lots of horses and people were around, with their owners putting on bandages and rugs on their horses. Kelly cleaned my hoofs and plaited my mane into little balls, they were quite tight and hurt a little. Then she gave me a lovely long groom. It tickled my belly but as I'm a horse, I couldn't laugh! I was then rugged up with a new, fluffy rug which had my showname, Rosewood Camilla, on it. I didn't have a clue why all this new stuff was being put on me, and I felt confused. Then Kelly's mum took hold of my leadrope and walked me in the opposite direction as normal. In front of me, was a HUGE lorry-type car. A door was on the ground and I was pulled up it. I wasn't worried as I got to have a net full of juicy horsehage! Then I got a bit scared when I started moving, but I remembered the time I went to the vets in one of them.

After a long journey, we came to a large field full of big lorry-type cars and lots of horses. I wasn't sure why they were all looking so shiny and neat. Kelly whispered," Sadie, you're gonna be alright, I promise! It's only a show!" A show? What did that mean? I had my tack on by the time Kelly was dressed all smartly. We trotted around a little ring with other horses and 2 jumps. I cleared the jumps very well and got lots of pats and then was taken into another ring but I was on my own. Oceans of eyes glared at me, and I didn't like it, not at all. A loud bell rang, and it gave me a bit of a shock. I was turned towards a bright red jump and it was quite frightening, so I quickly turned before it. I got a smack with the whip and headed for it again. 'I'm a brave gelding, I can do it, I know I can!' I thought, and I closed my eyes and ....... YES! I cleared it. Lots of other jumps were jumped, but I wasn't scared now. Kelly was so proud of me, especially when I went in the fast jumping round. I came 1st! Then the jumps got higher but I jumped them all, making every one make a big fuss of me. I loved it. Then the end of the 'show' came, and we went home. Since then, I have been to more 'shows' and have made my family proud, see, I  am brave, so can you!
