Description: This is a small perennial, about 6-10 inches above the ground. Each plant has
two oblong-oval leaves with an arched flower stalk bearing small,
fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers on the down side. Later in the summer, some of these plants may form
orange fleshy berries. It is most often found in gardens in thick beds.
Symptoms
may include: Gastro-intestinal
disturbance, irregular pulse, excessive salivation and dilated pupils.
Notes: Few
reported cases of fatal poisoning in horses.
