Worm Resistance
Some worm
populations in certain areas of the UK are resistant to benzimidazole drugs,
such as fenbendazole, oxibendazole and membendazole.
To test
for the worms that your horse is exposed to ask your vet to do a faecal egg
count before treatment and then 10 to 14 days later.
Each
year rotate the type of wormer you use for your routine worming. Don't
choose a wormer with the same sort of active ingredient as your last
year's wormer.
