Description: The
stems
are round, un-branched, bright green to dark grey; the leaves are absent or
narrow-flattened or cylindrical. The branches have small green, brown or reddish
flowers.
Symptoms
may include: Little
is known about the effects of eating the plant in Britain. In other
countries animals that have been poisoned have died suddenly as a result
of oxygen starvation of the central nervous system.
Notes: Amount
of toxins in the plant appears to vary at different times of the year.
Reports of poisoning are inconsistent.
