Low Risk
Description: Stout,
coarse, annual herb 2-5 feet tall with spreading branches; leaves simple,
alternate, irregularly coarsely toothed, with a rank disagreeable odour; flowers
large white (sometimes purple), tubular, 2-4 inches long; fruit a spiny capsule,
about 1 inch in diameter, splitting into 4 parts and shedding the brown black
seeds.
Symptoms
may include: Restlessness,
inco-ordination, dilation of pupils, paralysis and increased respiration
rate, death may occur.
Notes: Poisoning
has been reported, although cases are extremely rare due to an
unpleasant aroma and taste.
