VAT on Riding Hats: At the last budget, the chancellor decided to remove VAT from cycling helmets, but chose to ignore riding hats.  The BHS is campaigning for riding hats/helmets to be VAT free.  If you would like to help the BHS campaign send a letter of support to the BHS Safety Department, Stoneleigh Deer Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 2XZ, or email S.Hardy@bhs.org.uk with VAT in the subject box.

You should buy a new Riding Hat if your hat has sustained an impact (a bad fall, bang your head or if you drop it) - the damage may not be visible on the outside of the helmet, if your hat becomes too tight, too loose or too old.
