FREE WEBSITE FACILITY IS PROVING A BIG HIT
In fact it’s generating a multitude of hits.
However comprehensive the information on a website, it can never satisfy
all of the people all of the time. That
was the thinking behind the “Personal Search Facility” on HorseData.co.uk, a
site operated by Liz and Richard Stevens from their stable in Elham, Kent.
Among the most comprehensive sites on the web, it’s not
just the breadth and depth of information that is making it so popular.
“Such is the equine world’s seemingly limitless thirst for
information”, says Liz, “that we found it necessary to provide a free
service whereby if you want to know about anything equine, we’ll respond
within 48 hours”.
They are receiving requests from all over the
world, most fairly routine, some totally obscure data, but they haven’t been stumped
yet.
FLEDGLING
WEBSITE TO TAKE OVER GEEGEES.CO.UK
The poll of web site users organised by GeeGees to decide who
should take over its web site has been won by HorseData.co.uk, which gained
three times as many votes as its nearest rival.
The result confirms the growing popularity of the site, established only four months ago, but already described by a number of search engines as “a massive database”. HorseData provides over 10,000 items of information, and the number is growing by the month.
According to one voter, now a regular user, “The information is all there on the site, it doesn’t just refer you to another site to find it. It has saved me a lot of time and trouble”. |
