When you can carry a whip:

• Under British Dressage rules you are permitted to carry a whip in all competitions except championship classes (new rule to be introduced - max length 110cm).
• Whips are not permitted at all during the dressage phase of British Eventing affiliated horse trials.
• Pony Club rules allow whips to be carried in dressage, and during the dressage phase of events at branch and local events, though not at area trials or championships.
• Riding Clubs follow the same rules as British dressage, although some individual competitions set their own guidelines.
